The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry (our parish food pantry) is very grateful this year for all the donations we've received, especially since we now have so many clients signing up for help. People are greatly needed to assist "shoppers" as they choose items on Thursdays between 3 & 4pm. Volunteers are always paired with another person and do not need to help more than once a month. If you are interested, please call Linda at the rectory, 603-625-6409.
It is the most basic desire within the human heart to search for lasting peace and happiness. In response to this desire Jesus says: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30). If we turn to Jesus without hesitations or reservations He will give us that “peace that surpasses all understanding” (Phil 4:7), the peace we desire.
St. Anthony of Padua Parish, where the French tradition will always be part of the fabric of our community, is wholly committed to bringing Christ to whoever seeks Him. This happens primarily in the sacraments, but also in fellowship, in Scripture studies, and other group meetings. Join us as we throw open the doors to Christ and allow Him to “give us rest.”

New Hampshire Catholic Appeal: Future of our Faith II
This is a Diocesan initiative designed to strengthen our parishes and essential ministries. This annual appeal has replaced six of the second collections that we conduct every year in order to reduce the number of times we ask our parishioners to support Church causes and initiatives. It also replaces the Catholic Charities NH in-pew special collection appeal held yearly in our parishes and the Parable magazine drive. Our parish goal for 2024 is $32,713. Every dollar that our parish raises over that goal will be rebated back to our parish. As of January 6 2025, our parish has raised $15,041. The 2024 appeal ends March 31, 2025. Envelopes to give directly to the Diocesan appeal are at the entrances of church.
This Appeal is very important for the present and future of the Church of New Hampshire. We are many parts across the state, but one in the body of Christ, connected through our faith, hope, and charity. This appeal will help to fund our shared ministries which include the Community Services program at Catholic Charities, Parable magazine, formation of our seminarians, care for our retired priests, Catholic Education, Faith Formation and so much more.
Please click here for more information and/or to donate directly online to the appeal.
A PLACE OF CONSOLATION AND HOPE
Think of a Catholic cemetery as a bridge between this world and the next. We believe that in death, life is changed, not ended; the soul departs the body and enters everlasting life. Catholic cemeteries are consecrated “sleeping places”, set apart and solemnly blessed by the Church for those who now await the Resurrection of the Body. Unlike other burial places, Catholic cemeteries reflect our deep belief that we and our loved ones have been the dwelling places of the Holy Spirit in life and will continue to be so for those who now await the promise of Everlasting Life.
There are 66 Catholic cemeteries in NH.
See www.catholicnh.org/cemeteries to locate one near you.
