Everybody showed up despite the miserable weather and that was a victory in itself. Here is what happened in our class:
- Mrs. Babinneau came in to present the March for Life that will take place in Washington DC on January 24th -25th 2013, and gave the kids some registration forms.
All students are welcome to participate in this great cause.
- We finished our first chapter with an assessment, reviewing some concepts like holiness, mortal sin, original sin and God's kingdom.
- We started chap.2 and talked a lot about moral choices. We went through p.22-23. We talked about how sometimes our fears make us take the wrong decisions. But how the fear of the wrong consequences keeps us on the right track..Then the students were asked to team-up and create a situation for the other team. These situations needed to be evaluated morally.
We realized that our conscience is like a compass. We might go the wrong way because of peer pressure, fear, or anger, but God always welcomes us on the right path. Saint Paul tells us, in his Letter to the Romans, that he was no stranger to the struggle of doing right. Paul states, "For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate" (Romans 7:15-16)
- The students will keep working on their saint project due by the end of the month.
Have a great week, Danielle Hind
