I have had the privilege of ministering twice at St. Anthony of Padua Parish. My first term at St. Anthony's was from 1968 - 1974. At this time, I had the joy of teaching junior high students for two years and then being named Principal of St. Anthony Junior High. When I returned in 2002 - 2005, I served as the Assistant Principal.
My time spent at St. Anthony's is filled with fond memories. I simply loved my students, appreciated the many dedicated teachers who served with me, treasured the support of parents and was very fond of the relationship I shared with the clergy and parishoners. The marvelous St. Anthony church building, where we spent many house worshiping God as a school community, was a true gift!
Not having a chapel in the school building, it was a blessing to have St. Anthony's church so close. The priests and parishoners were always very open to our presence in church. We attended Mass in this beautiful chruch, received the Eucharist, went to Confession, sang in the choir, and took part in the Mass as readers, altar servers, and brought up the offertory gifts.
St. Anthony church played and continues to play an important role in the spiritual development of the students at Cardinal Lacriox Academy.
May this relationship continue to grow and nuture the present sudents of Cardinal Lacriox Academy and those who will profit from this school and church in years to come.
God bless you,
